Keeping Your Cool During Wedding Preparations

As your wedding day draws closer, you are probably feeling the stress and tension that comes with planning such a big event. You spend hours worrying about the flowers, the cake, the DJ and the caterer. You may even worry about whether your dress will be ready in time or if the honeymoon reservations will fall through. During this stressful time, you need to make sure that you take every opportunity to relax and have fun. Here are a few things you can do to take it easy so that you look and feel better when your big day arrives.

Get Geared Up with Friends

Your friends can be your grounding rod during the final weeks before you wedding. They can help you remember that your life will return to normal shortly, and they will help you forget your worries for a few hours. Try to spend at least a few hours a week with your closest companions. Go out to lunch, go shopping together or throw a party. The important thing is to spend some quality time with them.

It is almost impossible to not have a good time when you get together with your closest friends. You can make your time as a group even more memorable by giving them customized t-shirts as a token of your appreciation. They may be shirts that identify your friends as members of your wedding party, or they may have a witty saying that represents your friends’ personalities.

Spend Time with Your Fiancée

Planning a wedding can put stress on your relationship with your fiancée. You need to schedule time with each other when you aren’t engrossed in wedding details. Go on a date, and talk about something other than the wedding. Surprise him with gifts that let you know how much you love him and how excited you are that will soon be his wife, or buy a few customized t-shirts that you can wear as a couple. You need to spend these next few weeks focusing on each other, not the event.

Take Care of Yourself

All of your preparations will be for naught if your stress and anxiety are visible on the day of your wedding. Take some time to pamper yourself and relax. It will minimize your stress, which will allow you to look and feel better on your wedding day. Continue your healthy eating habits and workout schedule so that you can walk confidently down the aisle. Go to a spa for a soothing treatment, and make sure that you get plenty of rest. The extra pampering will make you glow on your wedding day.

Weddings are stressful, but you need to make sure that the plans do not cause you to worry too much. The day is about exchanging vows of commitment, but you also need to be committed to taking care of yourself before the big day arrives.
